Dick Locher: Hometown Artist
Presented by Naper Settlement: Dick Locher's ability to capture the absurdities of life through political cartooning culminated in his winning the Pulitzer Prize in 1983 and garnering top honor from the Sigma Delta Chi / Society of Professional Journalists in the same year. Locher began his editorial cartooning career at the Chicago Tribune in 1973; he has been the artist for the "Dick Tracy" comic strip since 1983. His cartoons are nationally syndicated by Tribune Media Services and and have appeared in Life, Time, Newsweek, U.S. News and World Report, Forbes, Playboy, The Congressional Record, and hundreds of newspapers throughout the world. Schoenherr art gallery is located 171 E. Chicago Ave., Naperville IL, 60540. Gallery Hours: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, noon to 5 p.m. Sunday.
