The 6th Annual Jazz Faculty Christmas Concert
Members of North Central College's internationally acclaimed jazz faculty will perform their fourth annual Christmas Concert at 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 8, in Madden Theatre at the Fine Arts Center, 171 E. Chicago Ave. The concert will feature a collection of well-known holiday favorites with a jazz twist. The faculty artists include vocalist Janice Borla, saxophonist Mitch Paliga, trumpeter Art Davis, trombonist Tim Coffman, vibraphonist Brad Stirtz, pianist Chris White, bassist Kelly Sill and drummer Jack Mouse. At the top of their game, each faculty artist is a talented musician-educator in the College's jazz studies program. They're all successful as independent jazz artists, regularly performing in public venues and releasing new recordings. Tickets are $25/adults and $20/students and senior citizens; call the North Central College Box Office at 630-637-SHOW (7469) or visit northcentralcollege.edu/showtix.. This year a "Question/Answer" session will follow each concert to give audiences an opportunity to engage directly with the featured artists. This series is co-presented by Flashpoint Creative Arts, a nonprofit organization founded by vocalist Janice Borla and drummer Jack Mouse, promoting improvisation as an invaluable life skill and presenting innovative artistic and educational experiences meant to draw people into the improvisatory process.
