Social Innovation Challenge: Final Round
The campus community is invited to hear finalists in the College's first-ever Social Innovation Challenge at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 17, in the theatre at Meiley-Swallow Hall. The Social Innovation Challenge is a student social venture and project contest organized by Students for Social Innovation (SSI), Student Affairs, and Leadership, Ethics and Values (LEV). Students generate ideas for innovative ventures or projects that respond to a social, economic, environmental or justice issue of their choice. Students then compete for grant funding (Heston Grant), seed funding, or other prizes to launch or expand their ventures or projects. Social ventures or projects may be for-profit, nonprofit, or hybrid models with a domestic or international focus. A panel of distinguished campus and community members will serve as judges for the event.
